Oops, it has been rather a while since I last posted on Alright Petal hasn’t it? Things have been busy in The Flower Studio – We now have two Studios (1 in Douglas and 1 in St Johns), plus there was the small matter of my family growing with the addition of Husband and Daughter (Wowzers!).
When you are running a business, it is so easy to get caught up in all the ‘businessy’ stuff (you know, the paperwork, the book-keeping, the tax returns, the pay runs…. all very yawnsome zzzz) that you start to lose sight of your passion. So I decided I needed to start looking back at the roots of where The Flower Studio started – my LOVE of flowers. All of them. I can’t choose a favourite (you will never be able to imagine how difficult it was for me to choose what flowers to have at our wedding – I pretty much ended up closing my eyes and clicking my mouse at random items on my wholesalers webpage!). I even love the flowers that can be swear words to some florists – Carnations, Chrysanthemums, and even Gypsophila!
Hence the Floral Alphabet series of posts that I am going to start…. It will force me to choose at least 26 of my favourites (which narrows it down a little), while sharing some fab designs and top tips with you all. And seeing as it is the start of our local growing season here on the Isle of Man I am going to feature one of our locally grown flowers for ‘A’. Stay tuned…. I promise I won’t run away this time!
