Exclusive!! Tom Hanks marries his sweetheart!

Yes that’s right, at the weekend we had the privilege of creating the floral displays for Tom Hanks’ wedding.

Oh ok, not THE Tom Hanks, Hollywood superstar, but A Tom Hanks, who definitely found his leading lady with the lovely Kirsty!

The weather on Saturday was perfect, lots of sunshine to go with the summer country garden theme that Kirsty and Tom had gone for with the flowers and room decor.

Kirsty’s bouquet was a mixture of pink roses, freesias and herbs and let me tell you, it smelt divine!

Her Bridesmaids had pretty roses wrist corsages and we made a cute wand with roses and ribbon trails for her little flowergirl.

The wedding ceremony took place at Ballabeg Methodist Chapel, which friends and family helped to decorate, and then the happy couple went on to Murray’s Restaurant at The Mount Murray Hotel to celebrate.

The chairs were hired from Finishing Touches and on every other chair we made a twig heart with a sprig of Rosemary and a pink ribbon bow.  These matched the cottage garden centrepieces which were whitewashed wooden barrels filled with scented herb foliage, freesias and pink and cream roses.

There was a little bit of Hollywood glamour added to the day with the tables being named after some of Tom Hank’s Hit movies such as ‘Splash’, ‘Big’ and ‘Forrest Gump’.

The top table was also decorated with roses and more twig hearts.

The rose theme continued on to this pretty wedding cake, covered in sugar flowers.

Keep an eye out for the full set of beautiful (and professionally taken) photos which will be appearing on Shans Photography Blog in the next few days.

Congratulations to Tom and Kirsty and we wish you all the very best for your future together.
